Grandparents are a big part of our lives and we love to celebrate how important they are to all of us, so this year we will be hosting another Grandparents’ weekend at Nottinghamshire’s only theme park for the under 10’s, where all tickets for Grandparents are only £10.
It’s always been one of our favourite days and has become a great big fun family day out with loads to do for all ages.
Grandparents Day at Sundown Adventureland
We all know how much Grandparents do for us in our everyday lives, so Grandparents day at Sundown Adventureland is your chance to say thank you for all the help, over all those years.
What better way to start the day than with Bacon Cobs all round?
There is no nicer way to start your day at Sundown than enjoying some bacon cobs for everyone. Even thinking about it makes your mouth water. We’re serving them from 10.00 in all of our cafes throughout the park, so when you arrive, have a walk around to plan your day and then head for tea and cobs. Pumpkin Patch Cafe in Market Square is a great place to start and it’s right by the entrance.
Time for a Tractor Ride with Gran?
If you’ve had your bacon cob, time for the Tractors. They’ve been a family favourite for many years for good reason. It’s brilliant fun and all ages love it. Let the family be driven around the track by the kids whilst Gran kicks back and relaxes for a cool passenger ride.
Get splashy with Gran
If you’re feeling brave, then why not get on down the Jolly Pirate Barrel Ride. There’s a chance you may get squirted or splashed but the reaction from the Grand Kids faces makes it all worth it!
Lunch anyone?
It’s time for a break and to compare notes on who’s done what and which parts of the park have given you the greatest laughs. Sit down together, enjoy a great value, hearty meal and get back out there for more fun and games.
Would you rather ride an Ostrich?
Well, who wouldn’t? Again, it’s the photo opportunity you’ll never forget and the Grandparents will feel like kids again as they gallop around our wild jungle track.
Early Christmas before home
At Sundown, it’s Christmas every day, so why not get into the (very) early Christmas spirit with a crazy Christmas ride. It’s a great way to end the day and will have you smiling from ear to ear all the way home.
It’s not about the size of the present, it’s the size of the thought
They say it’s the thought that counts and for most Grandparents, they’d rather spend a day with you and their Grand Kids than receive any other gift. The gift of time gives them and the kids, memories to cherish forever.

We’re now lucky enough to be able to offer accommodation at our very own Wild Acre Village at Sundown Adventureland and we have lodges big enough for the biggest families, with our double lodges capable of sleeping up to TEN people. And the Grandparents can even have their own private space to relax after a full, fun day with the Grand Kids.

We’re again offering free park tickets for all bookings in 2024. You do not need to do anything your tickets will be ready in your lodge on arrival. All tickets are valid from the date and time you check in until the end of the day you check out.
