Sundown Adventureland is a 3rd generation family business located near Retford (DN22 0HX) that has traded successfully for over fifty years with its unique core focus on children aged 0-10. The theme park has grown and now covers over fifty acres which can accommodate up to four thousand people and employs a team of more than a hundred at peak times.

Wild Acre Village is a lodge resort with 66 lodges, play area and reception/shop building. Providing a home away from home for visiting guests. It is built within Sundown Adventureland.

 

Job Title: The Catering Manager

Start Date: Immediate Start
Department: Catering
Reports: Catering manager / Unit Manager
Hours: Full-time position (40+ hours a week) including alternate weekends and evening shifts.
Rate of pay: £29,000 per year paid weekly

Purpose of the role

The Catering Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the outlets, cafes and shops. Manage staff and ensure a good working practise is adhered to. Be able to cover on all areas of the operations and be able to train and support new members of the team.

Departmental information

Our theme park catering department offer a food service for up to 3000 guests and 100 staff.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To be confident in the cooking, setting up the service counters, serving food and using the till
  • To manage stocking up of counters fridges and freezers with correct stock and in date rotation
  • To complete stock takes and stock rotation
  • To complete daily ordering of stock
  • May be required to work in all outlets and main café areas
  • Check cleanliness of all areas during and at the end of the service to conform with all company and EHO standards
  • Deal with customer enquires in a polite and efficient manner
  • Present a smart professional appearance and good personal hygiene and set a standard for other members of the team
  • Follow all health and safety and food safety legislation and other statutory requirements
  • Complete all HACCP paperwork daily
  • Attend any training courses or e- learning as required

Job Title: Santa Actor

Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Hours: Full time position from 19th of November until December 24th (3-5 days a week)
Department: Entertainment Team
Reports: Park Manager

Purpose of the role
Your responsibilities include interacting with children and having pictures taken with guests. Other duties include dressing in character, photography, and present organising. You maintain the comforting fantasy of Santa Claus for children.

Departmental information

The Night Before Christmas ride is a busy ride accommodating up to 3,500 guests on a daily basis to ride a magical sleigh ride before seeing Santa and Mother Christmas in their cosy living room.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To dress up and stay in character throughout their shift (excluding breaks).
  • To welcome children and pose for photos as well as talk to them about their Christmas wishes.
  • Make sure cleanliness of all areas are upheld during the service
  • Deal with customer enquires in a polite and efficient manner
  • Present a smart professional appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Follow all health and safety and fire safety legislation and other statutory requirements
  • Attend any training courses or e- learning as required

Purpose of the role

The ride operator will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running and operations of the park’s nine themed rides. Ensuring all companies procedures and health and safety policies are adhered to at all times. Good communications and a positive attitude are a must for this role.

Departmental information

You will be part of the operations department and working alongside a great diversity of employees. We are looking for part time staff members to cover holidays and weekends, with additional shifts available during busy periods.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To be confident in dealing and speaking with customers
  • To manage the operations including opening up and closing of your specified rides for the day.
  • To adhere to all company and health and safety polices.
  • To complete daily safety and operation checks
