We welcome visits from guests with disabilities and will do everything possible to ensure they have a safe and pleasurable visit and are able to participate in as many activities as possible.

Admission

We do not offer a discounted rate for disabled guests or their careers as the vast majority of the rides and attractions here are designed to be fully accessible to disabled guests.  We are, however pleased to offer a Queue Assist Scheme as we recognise that certain guests require additional assistance in order to be able to fully enjoy their visit to the Park.

For full details on our Queue Assist Scheme and how it operates, please click here.

Wheelchair and mobility scooter users, however, are admitted free of charge as there are a selection of rides which are not accessible.  Please note that guests must enter in their own wheelchair/mobility scooter to qualify for free entry.  Should a wheelchair be hired from us, an entry ticket will be required.

Parking

We have disabled parking available to our guests who have a blue badge for their vehicle.

Park access

All paths around Sundown Adventureland are flat with no hills. All surfaces around the park are concrete or block paving, with the acceptation of the cowboy street which is a loose bark surface with some wooden boardwalks.

Ride access

All our rides and attractions are accessible with a wheelchair to platform areas, however on all the rides you will need to be able to transfer from a wheelchair onto the ride with the help of your carer, who will have to sit with you on that ride to assist you with boarding and alighting the rides. Carers will also have to be able to assist you in the event of an emergency.

Broken limbs

Some rides do have restrictions for guests with broken limbs. Please see specific ride information for individual rides.

Café & shops access

All restaurants and shops are wheelchair accessible.

Toilet facilities

Toilets with disabled access are located at the park entrance (main toilet block), Rodeo Corral café and Crash Landings café. We are currently working with a changing places company to hopefully install a new facility as soon as possible.

Wheelchair hire

Manual wheelchairs are available to hire from the main entrance. However, we ask for a returnable deposit of £20, and it is £5 to hire for the day. We only have a limited availability. So please pre-book before your visit by calling the office on 01777248274.

Guide/assistance dogs

We recognise that some guests require additional assistance from a service animal in order to visit and we welcome fully trained Assistance Dogs into the Park.

Assistance Dogs must be on a lead or harness and accompanied by the disabled person or another member of the party at all times.  Please note that Assistance Dogs will not be allowed to accompany guests onto all of the rides for health and safety reasons.  Please ensure the dog is left with another member of your group and not left unattended at any time.

Statement of safety for guests with disabilities

Sundown Adventureland wants all of its guests to have a safe and magical adventure and is a member of the British Association of Leisure Parks Piers and Attractions (BALPPA) and welcome visits by disabled people and will do all that is possible to ensure a safe and pleasurable stay. However, certain rides and attractions in our park can be physically demanding and vigorous. We, therefore, reserve the right to refuse admission to certain rides should we feel there is a danger to a particular individual for whatever reason.

We have been advised by the health and safety executive that refusal on the grounds of health and safety does not constitute discrimination.

We hope that you understand and accept the decisions made in the interest of health and safety.

Not all our rides at Sundown Adventureland are suitable for all guests and each ride has specific requirements based on the design of the ride, the force of the ride and the evacuation procedures in place. These are set in accordance with ride manufacturer’s stipulations and external Ride Inspectors (ADIPS) requirements and exceptions will not be made. All our staff have been trained to follow all rules and restrictions for each ride for health and safety reasons. We will not make any acceptations and the ride operator’s decision is final. They are there for your safety and for the safety of others. Your safety whilst at Sundown is our main priority.

Finally; if you need any help during your time at Sundown Adventureland please don’t hesitate to ask a member of staff who will be happy to help you .Once again have a magical day here at Sundown Adventureland.
