Here at Sundown Adventureland, We’re not going to be beaten by this pesky Corona Virus, so the whole team have devised a Christmas event that we think you’re going to love. There will be a few small changes from previous years but you can rest assured that all of the favourites will be there and it’s going to be great fun for kids and families alike.
The first thing to say is that this year we will be operating on massively reduced capacity and enhanced cleaning regimes throughout, so there will plenty of space for you to move around, have fun and feel completely safe.
So let’s show you around this years Grand Christmas Greeting…
As Christmas draws near, the park is converted into a Winter Wonderland with Christmas theming throughout and the annual opening of the wonderful ‘Night before Christmas’ ride. Climb aboard one of Santa’s sleighs and take a magical journey through the enchanted forest. (Please note, there are some rules about social distancing and group sizes on the ride and in Santa’s grotto – see below for details)
You’ll be greeted by the elves and the ever friendly Mrs. Claus and when it’s your time, you’ll be invited to meet the big man himself. When you meet him, you’ll find out whether you’re on the naughty or nice list and if you name’s on the right list (it normally is, so don’t worry!), you’ll receive a lovely individually wrapped present and the chance to share your wishes with him.
Just to make sure you all feel extra safe, Santa has managed to grow his beard this year to be extra thick and he’s even managed to weave a mask into his luscious glowing white chinny hair.
When you’ve seen Santa and your present is safely in your hands, you’re free to explore the rest of the park.
The Market Place will take you back to a traditional time with beautiful festive lights and the smell of non-alcoholic mulled wine for you and the kids. If you’re looking for something more filling, there’s mushy peas and mince pies and a warming hot soup also available. On a cold Christmassy day it’ll warm you through and help you keep going for more fun with the kids.
All indoor play areas, cafes and rides will remain open until closing.
During the Grand Christmas Greeting, the park will be open from 10.00 until 16.00 on weekdays, 10.00 until 17.00 on weekend days and from 10.00 until 16.00 on Christmas Eve (as I’m pretty sure we’ll all deserve a festive drink by then 🙂
Your ticket includes park entry for the day, use of all of the rides and attractions throughout, the amazing ‘Night Before Christmas Ride’ and a visit to Santa himself, all children over 90cm receive a lovely gift from Santa. All children under 90cm will be charged £3.50 each. You can enter the park at any time as the time slot you choose when booking is your time slot for the Night before Christmas ride and Santa visit.
Due to Government restrictions, only EIGHT people are allowed in together to meet Santa. This must be from a maximum of TWO households together.
All green calendar dates over the Christmas period does NOT include the live meet and greet with Honey and Sunny and their new friends Koko and Kiki. The live meet and greet is only on the red days – see calendar for details here (link). The additional outlets will be closed on a green day and hot food will only be served in Crash Landings. The park opening times are from 10am until 4pm on weekdays and your ticket price does include a visit to see Santa and one ride on the Night before Christmas ride. Other rides throughout the park will be opening at various times throughout the day.
